Dusty,

Are you ordering or buying off the dealer's lot?
Do you have a trade in or not?

The best advice I can give you is know the price you want to pay and be willing to walk if you don't get it; willing to sign if you do.

Individuals here on the forum say the purchase price of a trailer should be 30% off Jayco's MSRP. Jayco's one of the very few manufacturers that make their MSRP available on their web site. So go to Jayco's web site and figure out what the MSRP is for the trailer you're looking at including options. Then take 30% off the MSRP and you have your target price.

When I've purchased vehicles or trailers I've always taken the negotiation approach: "I'll give you this $ and my trade, nothing more."

The $ amount I go with includes all additional costs including tax, delivery, prep, fees, registration, etc. This way I avoid the surprises of extra charges.

Figure your $ amount by:
MSRP - 30%
- Trade Value (you can use NADA RV page to help figure this out)
+ Sales Tax
+ Delivery & Prep
+ Registration, Insp
+ Processing Fees

Good luck.

The 314 is a really nice rig. This is a rather heavy TT so my suggestion is to have the WD set right to the heavy tongue weight. Also check to see if it has Tow Max tires, Jayco uses them most of the time on TTs and they are garbage. Had I been smarter when I bought my 334, I would have made the dealer get them off as part of the deal. Check out all the horror stories on this forum regarding Tow Max Chinese junk tires.
