eaz lift hitch

A little over a year age I purchased a used Jay Feather LGT trailer from a dealer. This dealer installed a new eaz lift hitch for me. Last week when I hooked up the trailer I had to push the spring clip with the locking pin in to hold the weight distribution bar up in the hitch head. When I hooked up Sunday morning I again push the spring clip and locking pin in to hold the bar in place. When I got home and released the chains on the distribution bar it fell out of the hitch onto the ground. I called eaz lift this morning and they are sending me a new spring clip kit to replace the one that is not working properly at no charge. I would like to know if anyone else with this hitch has had this problem and what they did to correct it. So far it has only happened on the right side. I also apply grease to the weight distribution every time I hook up.

I have the same wdh hitch. Bought it few months with our new JF, but I usually leave the bars in and never release them. Just drop it out of the TV and into the storage bin. Only released them twice to lube.
Just to make sure you're talking about the gold clips right where the weight bar goes up and into?

Yes, I am talking about the gold clips that hold the bars in place.

I used one for 4 years and many trips, and never had a problem. I bought a Blue Ox a few months ago because the ride with the EazLift was so harsh... I have the EazLift available free for anyone that wants it, but I won't ship it... PM me if you want it.
