Question Electric jack won’ extract or retract

Hi folks. My electric jack will not retract or extract. It has power. Won’t even budge using manual handle. Sounds like somethings not engaging inside. Any suggestions. Please don’t say “ buy a new one” worked fine Friday morning when we left campsite and got into driveway and it would not budge. Thankfully I’m smart and undid the hitch from the truck and slowly pulled out.

Are you referring to an electric tongue jack on the trailer A frame? If so disconnect power wire and try to hand crank it. It has a circuit breaker that may be engaged. I had it happen two weeks ago, when the retract/extend switch was stuck and had the jack in a bind against the stop.

Stab jack?

Had mine replaced 6 months in under warranty, they said it had a blown diode in the board…..

But I was able to retract mine with I think a 5/16” socket and ratchet with extension.

I broke my Extend/Retract switch and it was locked up in retract with no disconnect, and could not stop power. Have since installed an inline toggle switch along with a new E/R switch. If it is locked up against a stop, it will take a little force on the crank to get it moving.

So I took the electric jack apart and the metal spindle broke. Very bizarre. I will phone the company I purchased from and see if part of it can be replaced.

It does happen. We had the motor shaft shear off right after the DW raised it off the ball. It was 6 years old, and had started to make a strange noise just as we hooked up to leave for the weekend. At least it waited for us to get home before it gave up the ghost. Not a replaceable part I could buy, so a new jack was ordered.
