Electric Tongue Jack height

I am going to upgrade our manual tongue jack on our 22FB to an electric one. I think I'm going with the Barker VIP 3500 model. (I like the MADE-IN-USA feature) The nice folks at the Barker customer service dept with whom I spoke with said that an "18-inch" model is considered "industry-standard" and that a 24 inch model should not be necessary. Can someone confirm for me the physical compatibility of installing that Barker 18-inch model on a Jayco TT? Just want to make sure that the 18 inch model won't have a problem with the plastic cover on the propane tanks.
Thanks.
Ed

I put an 18 inch Ultra Fab on the front of my Jayco 264BH and it has no problems handling raising the trailer high enough to go an a Ford F150 STX 4WD with 18 inch rims or raising truck and trailer to "break" the connector loose. You have to remember also that even with my truck this high the equalizer hitch drops the ball way down. This is a mod we did about 2 weeks after buying the trailer and I don't regret it a bit - wish I had done it on the old unit I sold it makes life so wonderful!! You'll love having the power jack, note that they don't raise and lower fast but sure beats making my shoulder hurt turning that handle!! Bought the Ultra Fab due to Camping World sale - we have no problem with the propane cover but someone else may be able to give you details on the Barker and the cover.

I put a large block of wood under mine (same model you thinking of getting). I never have any problem with height by doing this. My plastic propane cover is pretty close but not in the way at all.

When and if I have to replace mine, I will get the 24" version. Takes away the guess work of how many leveling blocks to put under the tongue jack.
