Electric Tongue Jack only works when plugged into truck

I have a 2017 Jayco Jayflight BHBE and as of today the Electric Tongue jack is only working when plugged into truck. On Friday it worked just fine without using the truck, and then when today, when we went to load up, the Electric Tongue jack only worked when plugged into truck. Drove 2 hours home with it plugged into truck, and still not working.

Inside the camper, the control panel says battery is Full, the lights are working in the camper, etc.
Any ideas?

Welcome to the forum.

This sounds like the 30amp fuse has blown. It often happens when the tongue jack is raised to lowered too far.

Usually the 30amp fuse is located at the front, near the battery and the tongue jack in an in-line fuse holder. The fuse holder is a small rubber piece with cover to hold the fuse in and keep water etc. out.

So look over the wiring to find that fuse and check it.

That did the trick. It is working now. Thanks.

Buy several spare fuses. If you're like me, it won't be the last time it will blow.

The bad thing that happens when that fuse blows the charge line is cut off to the battery. The jack and charge line are joined prior to the fuse, that's why the jack will run from the tow vehicle. If you want to eliminate the problem disconnect the jack wire from its present location and run it directly to the battery. If you have the Lippert jack it has its own automatic breaker. It will then run from the battery but not from the charge line. Combining those two through the same fuse is a bad idea. You may not know the fuse is blown and you will be traveling without the battery receiving any charge.

You can also replace the fuse with an auto-reset breaker. Then when you go too high or low with the jack, the breaker will just reset and you're back in business.

Or you can replace the jack altogether. That's what I did on my old TT (not by choice really). My OEM jack bit the dust from water intrusion, so I replaced with a Husky that came with a breaker and was MUCH better protected from the elements...
