Hi everyone........ Question if someone can help! Im going camping at a facility that can only offer me 15 Amp service,Since my Travel Trailer is equipped for 30 Amp,I realize This is most certain useless,But was wo ndering if connected,could I use a regular window/box fan???? As I realize I cannot use any other appliances such as the AC Etc. The fridge will be running on propane. Thanks.......

Yes. And run your Fridge on electric also. No sense wasting your propane.

You will be surprised how much you can do on a 20 amp circuit. Yes definitely run the refrigerator, the box fan the converter to keep battery charged this way you can use your 12 volt lights. Enjoy your camping

I'll tell you my experience. If there is truly 20 amps at 115 - 120 volts available, you can certainly use your box fan and more besides. If your A/C is not on, you could probably use your box fan, converter, refrigerator on electric, and a TV (but not your microwave unless you turn everything else off or onto propane).

You might be able to turn the refrigerator and water heater to propane, turn off any AC using devices and use your A/C.

You'll just need to carefully choose what appliances are on at the same time.

If the voltage is low and/or there is a weak breaker at the pedestal, less electricity can be used.

On a 20A circuit here at the house I was able to run the fridge, radio, lights and A/C without problems in our now gone 23B. Without a doubt I could not have added the micro. A 15A circuit would not let the A/C run. You may have different results at a CG but it might be worth a check.

Lol. Yes, everything but A/C, microwave and Hot water heater.

Edit: to be clear, hot water heater can be run with propane, just not electric.

Yes. But if it makes you nervous, bring an extension cord. Plug the fan into the extension cord and plug that into the campsite pedestal.

15A will allow you to run everything except the A/C (including the microwave).


However, if you turn off 100% of your 120V load (switch the fridge AND water heater to propane, do not use the microwave) you could run the just A/C on the 15A circuit.


So, plugged into 15A: everything except A/C and microwave.
