Electrical question on Jay Flight 33rlds

When you have a dead or disconnected battery, and you are plugged into your tow vehicle (engine on) with 7 prong plug, should you be able to use your tow vehicle to open slide(s) and interior DC lights?

Simple answer is yes. But it does partially depend on how things are wired. Someone posted recently on their 5ver they are completely disconnected from all 12 volt power including through the converter when their disconnect is thrown. On my 23B, I can move my slide, and so forth. When boondocking I actually move the slide and awning while connected to the TV while it is running, just to limit the draw on the RV batteries.

Yes, but you have to be careful, the fuse on the supply wire is typically 30A.

You should be careful not to travel without your battery and be sure it is connected and operational. This is required by DOT as a safety feature to provide operating 12VDC to operate your trailer electric brakes in the event your trailer becomes disconnected from your truck when being towed. The idea is to stop the trailer as soon as possible if this happens.

My breakaway system has a battery built in on its own, maybe not all of them do though.
