Electronic sway control

Bringing home a 2016 23RSLW tomorrow. Apparently there was an option for electronic sway control that year. How can I tell if it has that feature or not? I can't find a way on the web to tell via the VIN, and I don't know where to look for the module on the trailer. It's not a deal breaker, just would like to know if I have it.

Thanks

From what I remember they had problems with that system and disabled and or removed the system from trailers that had them. Maybe shoot Jayco an email along with your VIN and ask them

It will be about a 2.5" or 3" diameter "puck" on the front of the trailer. Will have some lights on it, green if it's okay or red when it detects sway. On the drivers side so you can see it in the mirror. My 174BH had it and worked good even with my factory brake controller in my 2017 Ram. If that puck isn't there, the WIRING may be present but you have to find a specific measurement to cut into the wall to find it.

I seem to remember that was "Sway Commander" and, it was recalled because of some scary safety issues.
Didn't work with some OEM brake controllers, and, under some circumstances, would stop your trailer brakes from working at all.

Jayco pulled it out of any trailers that responded to the recall.

I believe it was recalled and never returned.

Thanks for the location, and the other info. I knew there was a recall, but assumed they fixed the issue.

Here is the information on Swag Commander:

Jayco is recalling 3,085 model year 2016-2017 Jay Feather, Jay Flight, Jay Flight SLX, Eagle, White Hawk, and Octane travel trailers manufactured January 5, 2016, to July 18, 2016, equipped with a Sway Command anti-sway system.

When connected to certain tow vehicles that have an integrated brake controller, and after the anti-sway system has applied the trailer brakes in response to a sway event, the trailer brakes may no longer function to slow or stop the trailer.

A loss of trailer brakes may lengthen the distance needed to stop the vehicle and cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Here is the site for all the information:
