Empty Tanks Between Trips?

We make multiple trips from March to November. Have seen different comments on whether or not to empty tanks between trips. Just read one comment about the need to keep fresh water tanks dry so bacteria doesn't grow. Is there a standard? I looked in the manual and it doesn't specify. The longest time between our trips is about a month or so.

I've never drained the fresh water tank once I sanitize it in the spring. I usually leave enough water in the grey to fill the drain pipe, and I leave enough water in the black to keep the bottom of the tank covered (I let the black tank rinse spin for a smidge and I really do hope the bottom of the tank ends up covered ..).

I drain mine on the way home just to save hauling the weight. That being said I also leave a few gallons for restroom emergencies.

I drain it at home and flush ( no clorox) a little and fill before we leave. Over a couple of weeks of the tank sitting there nice and hot and damp, I clorox it again.

Oh, since I don't drink the water in the FW tank, I'll leave a residual of chlorine in that water too. That probably contributes to my keeping the funk down.

I always drain the fresh tank after each trip and that usually happens while driving down the highway at 65mph. Don't follow to close if your riding a motorcycle or you'll get "misted" Lol.
