Talking Exhaust fan vent issue

Hello can anyone tell me how to unlock the exhaust fan vent on a 2015 jayco jay flight rb . On our first trip out I tried to lift up and pull down on the two tabs but couldn't get it to open . In the process I broke one of the tabs is this an easy fix thanks

The tabs just rotate out of the way of the little swinging panel. I turn mine so they point down toward the ground. Then, when the fan comes on, it blows the panel open.

I dropped the screen on the inside to access the fan and pushed the flap open for the first time. I tried everything on that sucker from the outside.

My Jayco Bungalow does not have a vent to the outside. It just blows it all back into the rig. Will solve that problem next season.

I had the same problem with my '14 24RKS. The tabs on the bottom of the door are a snap fit and fit extremely tight. I pried carefully on the door to get it open. The door has enough weight that it will stay pretty much closed until you turn on the fan. I have left mine unsnapped and have not had any trouble with insects getting in.

It is really hard the first few times. I push up and out on the tabs (from the outside) really hard and it will come loose. But like Rick56, I just leave mine unlocked unless I'm winterizeing or putting it up for a while. Never had any bug issues with it, but sometimes if it's windy the flapping will bug me.
