IMO, You should consider making that a 30 Amp using #10 AWG Wire.

X2

Put in a 30 amp 120V outlet to run the AC. I have run my AC off of a 20 amp plug with the adaptor, after 10 minutes or so the adaptor starts to get warm, after a while it will get hot and melt.

Extension was good for us as we used it only to keep the battery charged and, before a trip, run the fridge over night. But when the grown kids wanted to use it on visits I bit the bullet and called our electrician. He installed 30 amp service with the 30 amp receptacle on the rear of the garage. So now no extension is necessary and all appliances can be used safely. I'm going to post a guide so no one will try to run the toaster oven, electric WH and microwave at the same time! AC isn't a problem. It's not needed up here.
