Exterior to Interior Rear Wall Thickness

About to install a Furrion wireless observation camera/mount and wanted to check if anyone knows the thickness of the exterior wall to the interior along the backside of the trailer... I have a 2017 26BH (aluminum siding) and want to use plenty of screw but don't want to drill into the interior by accident... Any information is appreciated. Thanks.

Can't go wrong with an 1-1/2" screw. Walls are roughly 2" thick on a Jay Flight. Studs are 1-1/2". I had got a good measurement when I removed all 9 of my windows to do a reseal / reset last year. 1-1/2" stud, 1/8" interior panel, 1/8" luan plus filon on mine. So a little less than 2". Either way, 1-1/2" should be fine. If that's too close for you, go 1-3/8" or 1-1/4".

Thanks Big John... I will also have to look at where on the aluminum siding it needs to be mounted which could add some depth as well but I think your information will give me what I need to proceed.. Thanks again.

You're most certainly welcome. The main door opening will give you at least a good guess with a quick measurement. Better a shade short than too long. I have made that mistake in the past and ended up with screws through the wall. Luckily it was only a few and wasn't really noticeable.

Thanks for this info guys I also have a 2022 Jayco 212QB SLX and I want to install a TV mount and I was wondering just what long of screw I needed. I don’t want to go all the way though the wall and make holes on the exterior wall of the trailer. So I am going to use the 1- 1/2”.
