F150 towing.

Anyone using a f150 or half ton to tow 8000lbs plus. I just purchased a 32bhds and am looking to hear from anyone towing the same. I have ran all the numbers and am sure I'll be under my limits.

All I can say is good luck. You will eventually be looking for a 3/4 ton truck if you tow that 32 footer enough.

F150 towing.

I pull my 2011 Eagle Super Light 318RLS with a 2016 Ram 1500 QuadCab w/ 5.7 Hemi. I use a FastWay E2 hitch.
No issues at all.
I know you asked about 1/2 ton Ford, But......

It may be within limits but it won't be fun. What is the payload capacity of your F150? I tow a 26bhsw and skirt just under my limits.. Maybe.. When loaded for camping.

When you have a dry hitch weight of over 800 lbs. it leaves very little room for cargo on any 1/2 ton truck. I guarantee once the hitch is actually loaded the 1/2 ton F150 will be over its cargo weight limit. The trailer has a GVW just shy of 10,000 lbs. Not a good situation for a 1/2 ton. Any grades or winds and it won’t be very comfortable at all.

Saying its no problem is not realistic, unless they only plan to travel in Florida, Nebraska or Kansas.

My payload is 2564lbs.. I have max tow and hd payload package. It towed my 25bh like nothing but the new trailer is a wee bit more weight.

I towed our Feather 23BHM with a 2016 5.0. Feather is 5151 empty, maybe 5700 going down the road. Power was fine, plenty of payload, but the rear end was a little soft. No sway but lots of porpoising. I traded it last summer on a 2017 f350 6.2 (took a warm bath on that). We made the mistake of looking at fifth wheels and just jumped to one yesterday, so the 350 is needed now. I really wouldn't have been comfortable with anything heavier than the Jay Feather behind the f150 but everyone is different.

It’s going to tow it ok, and you do have some good cargo numbers, so I will retract my previous cargo statement. Where you really notice the limitations on 1/2 ton trucks is accents, descents, and wind. If you are going through canyons something like salt river its gets pretty tough on a 1/2 ton.

I have a 3.5 eco boost as my work truck, so one thing I can tell you from experance. If you tow with a twin turbo, it sucks down gas like a fire hose. Great engine though...

Just to clear up any confusion. I am seasonel at a site. I only tow it 2 times a year about 300 km each way so really can not justify a new truck if this one will do. My current truck is a 2017 f150 3.5 EcoBoost 4x4 super cab with 8 ft box.
Payload 2564
Gvwr 7850
Rgaw 4800
Gcwr 17100
Max tow 11500.
