Faded Awning Arm

Hello Everyone.

I am new to owning a camper and need some advice. Our camper is a 2020 Jayco SLX 224 BH. We have one awning arm that has faded to a flat black while the other arm is still nice and shiny. Not sure how or why that happens, but any suggestions on how can I bring the shine back?

Welcome to JOF from SW Michigan! I see quite often that a can of black spray paint is used to touch up a lot of items on the exterior of the RV. Can't say I've seen it used on the awning arm, but sure it wouldn't hurt, IMHO. I'd extend the awning on a very calm day and just touch it up with the gloss that would about match the other arm.

The awning arms may be powder coated as many items are nowdays. If so, paint may not adhere well.
