Question Fantastic Fan & 15000 BTU AC - Get or Skip?

Hello Everyone... It's Chrissy from Arkansas!
So we've FINALLY decided on the Jay Feather 24 RL We are probably going to order it so we can have everything we want.
Do we order the 15,000 BTU AC - Standard option is 13,500 BTU AC
What about the Fantastic Fan?
Any advice is greatly appreciated. I love this forum. Ya'll have helped us so much already.

Yes for sure on the fantastic fan. From Arkansas, I can assume that you get quite a few hot days and you may appreciate the 15K BTU AC.

We are in Texas, and we appreciate having the 15k BTU a/c and thermal package. We don’t have a fantastic fan, so I can’t comment on that.

Yes on both, worth every penny. With the 15K AC unit you won't have an AC unit that struggles to keep up in the southern heat. Get the Fantastic fan with 3 speeds, reversible, and thermostat. Then get a cover for it so you can use it in the rain and to protect the thin cover from getting brittle in the sun. Enjoy your Jay Feather 24RL!

Yes and yes. 100%. In Jonesboro, Arkansas. With our heat and humidity you'll want both.

Yes & yes! You'll appreciate both especially if you travel farther south (TX, AZ, NM, etc).

Here's what I would do if I were you: I have a Feather 23BHM, just a hair smaller than yours. We're in the northeast and you might think it doesn't get hot up here but you would be wrong. We have the 15K A/C and when we set up on hot days it takes quite a while for the camper to cool down, and honestly it never cools down to where my daughter and I like it to be. If we had had the option I would have gone 50 amp and 2nd A/C. With you having a separate bedroom, depending on your tolerance you might swelter in there. It's an extra $1000.00 but buy once cry once.

Also, I don't know if you know it or not but the jacknife sofa is incredibly uncomfortable - unless they've changed.

Good luck with your Feather. It's a nice little trailer and ours has been good to us.

Thanks Killer,
Ahhh yeah... spent many summers in R I. So understand the heat. We know not to get the jackknife. Definitely going the trifold route. Thanks for replying. Good luck with the next storm! They roll just above us and cause havoc to the rest of the country! Personally we'd take one storm of a few inches... but I understand how ya'll have had enough.

ok. Sounds like we need to add the 15 K BTU AC. Arkansas gets pretty hot and humid.

Just 10% more A/C will help on a hot day, but it's not a miracle cure like some would think.

I rather have super insulation and double pane windows than 10% more A/C.

If I were an RV salesman, I'd sure want to sell you the most expensive one.

What's the price difference?

We have the fantastic fan, it’s great. Wish I would have got the remote control, the DW can’t reach the controls.

I also have a 24RL. I have the 15k btu ac and fantastic fan. I would recomd them both. One other option that that I would recommend is the fan vent cover. I think mine is called Max Air. You can keep the roof vent open even in the rain on the move or at your site.

Good luck with it.
