Fast way e2 wdh
Ok, here goes!
I am pulling my wh 28dsbh with the above mention wdh. I have sway in the form of trucks, or even very fast moving cars will pull my unit into them at speeds below 65 mph. If I am above 65 mph don't notice it much. I have adjusted that thing ( with the help of e-trailer) till I am blue in the face nothing seems to help. Even when I get the front of truck down to normal ride height when not pulling. Is it the truck, hitch, should I get a Curtis friction sway control. I have added hd shocks, and 10 ply tires on my truck for extra stability would that have caused it?
Help needed!

A 3/4 ton truck will help. I have a 28DSBH and pulled with a 06 silverado 1500 with max towing package. I added HD shockes on the truck and have the equalizer 10k. I didn't get much sway from the trailer but the truck seemed to swap. Upgraded to a 2500HD 6.0 gas and on local trips I don't even need the WD or sway bars.

$$$$ is a reason, plus it would be my daily driver and getting 12 mph without a load is not good, also I am a ford guy and they don't make the color bright red anymore, but I may have too if we plan on going out west next year. Oh, what to do?

I am not sure about your hitch. I have only used the equalizer 10k with great results. Hopefully another member will be able to help.

I have the E2 hitch on my hybrid X23B. The E2 is 2 point control vs. the Equalizer that has 4 point control. Maybe someday I'll switch to the Equalizer...

If your WDH adjustments hasn't included a visit to your local CAT scale, I would go. There is a lot of useful data the CAT scale will tell you about your particular loaded TV/TT combination (confirms WDH sizing/adjustment, TV & TT weights, adequate tongue weight, etc.).

I had the e2 for about 2 months and was not happy with its sway control. In any decent cross winds I could feel it big time. I Upgraded to the the equalizer 4 point (1400) night and day difference. It's not your truck. It's the hitch.

I have the e2 from my jayflight 264bhw on my ram 1500...sway control is awesome...maybe you need more tongue weight? I also added air bags and found that made a big difference

My first thought was a TV upgrade based on my similar experience with sway using an E2 and a half ton TV. I upgraded to a 2500 and kept the E2 but the sway went away indicating to me that the heavier suspension of the truck had more to do with sway control than the E2, at least in my case. I'd agree that a trip to the CAT scales would provide some valuable info but not sure that throwing a ton of money into the tow vehicle to beef up the suspension is going to vastly improve the problem. Maybe someone with an F150 and a larger TT can chime in on their hitch choice.

how the E2 can be awsome at controling sway, i mean side to side sway or if you prefer fishtailing ? My understanding is the the up and down movement is controled at the L bracket where the bars are sliding back and forth , but there is no friction point at the hitch head on the E2 as far as i know so the E 2 cant do a lot for fishtailing , maybe there is something there that i dont understand ?

Yes there is side to side friction on the L brackets. The weight on the bars themselves help prevent sway

My bad you are absolutly right, however the E4 is superior according to equalizer because of the additional friction point at the hitch head.....thanks for the correction !

I would say it's your hitch. Never used one so I can't comment really on how good or bad the hitch is. I pull a 33 bhds Whitehawk with my F150 5.0 using a Blue Ox Swaypro with no problems. I watch my speed when towing and never go over 62 mph. Max weight on my trailer is 8600 but probably only tow with about 8000 max. Do I wish I had a 250or 350 yes, but as an everyday driver usually putting 15k plus a year mile wise city driving wouldn't cut it for me. I average 12-12.9 mpg towing and 17-18 driving around in the city.

I use a sway control only on our set up and may go to a WDH in addition to it. I do find that it lessens the sway considerably when I have it connected, although it has an annoying groan from it when we turn.
This may help for your cat scale search
