Fastway jack foot crumples

I bought a used 2012 Jayco Feather Ultralite x20e travel trailer that had a Fastway Flip Automatic Jack Foot attached. It worked great several times but then, while in storage and with the tongue jack and Fastway down, it gave way, leaving the Fastway lying on and parallel to the ground, and the bottom of the tongue jack plunged into the dirt/gravel. I needed a hydraulic jack to lift the trailer to put lumber under the tongue jack for the rest of the winter. The Fastway doesn't appear to be broken, cracked or otherwise damaged or unusable. Any ideas why this happened and how to avoid it happening again? Should I try to re-install the Fastway or buy a new one? Thanks much for the help.

Hard to say without seeing it if you should reinstall, or buy a new one. Sounds like it is ok.

The only thing I can think of to ask is, where the wheels chocked, both sides, front & rear? Or did the chocks possibly slip due to ice causing the foot to fold?

I had all 4 trailer tires on risers to keep them off the gravel, and one X-chock used between the left side tires and one on the right side tires during storage. The tires were still on the risers, and the X-chocks in place, when I discovered the jack foot had given way. I'll post a few photos of the jack foot; maybe someone will spot something that I'm not seeing. Thanks.
