Feather 165

All -

Was considering a pop-up, but now looking hard at the Jay Feather 165. It looks like a very nice trailer. Having never towed anything, I am not sure how that will feel, but with a GVWR of 3500, seems fairly light. My tow vehicle is a Nissan Frontier (v6). My capacity is 6300, so I should be fine.

Any comments on this trailers and/or my tow vehicle would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Dry Hitch Weight (lbs) 420

Interior Height 78"
Tank Capacities
Fresh Water Capacity (gals) includes water heater 30
Gray Waste Water Capacity (gals) 30.5

Looks like a good match. Get a decent brake controller and WD hitch with sway control and you should be good to go, if your tow rating is 6300.

I think it is a good match. Also that is a nice floorplan for a small trailer.

Even the tank capacities are decent for a trailer of that size.

agreed. I have a 05' model and pull it with my 6cyl Envoy with no prob. You do know its back there for sure but they are designed to be pulled by the smaller truck crowd even some minivans with the proper tow set up. I didnt want to buy a larger truck inorder to get a camper so had to match what is within my trucks tow range. you will need a brake controller and a anti sway bar on one side to help with the passing big rigs from blowing you around also possibly look into a tranny cooler while you at it. I really like the floor plan too. Post up some pics if you do get it.

I tow a jayco 197 with a 4ltr 6cylinder 4runner with no problem. It is steady as a rock without sway control but I think the dual axel helps.

New 165

Well, sold on 165 over pop-up and just picked up my new Jayco Feather 165 a couple of days ago. Towed it with no issues 50 miles back home from the dealer with my Nissan Frontier SL V6. Had sway control and it was steady as rock. Very impressed with the quality of the TT. Slept in the driveway with the family and it was very comfortable. This is a 'new' RV experience having had a Pleasureway class B a few years ago (nice as well). Looking forward to some fun in my new 'toy!'
