Filling Fresh Water Tank
This is our second season with our Jayco Baja last year I don’t remember having any problem filling the fresh water tank. This year every time I go to fill it water runs put as fast as I put it in.
Fortunately we haven’t dry camped at all so it hasn’t been a problem but I am trying to figure out why.
How do you fill yours, what am I doing wrong.
If I remember from last year it was just put a hose in the fill hole and the water went in.

Jeepy,
Could it be that your low point drains are open?
Could it be that your tank is already full and the “new” water is flowing out the overflow pipes?

Sorry I guess I didn’t explain it correctly it is backing out the hole where I put the hose in and running down the side of the trailer. Some is going in but not much. Then when I take the hose out of the hole it pours back out.
My gauge reads 1/3 full.

Seems like either, the tank is already full, or the filler tube is wholly or partially blocked.

This happened to me last time we were out. The water pressure was very high, and I had the hose pushed right so the air couldn’t come out ad I was filling. As soon as I pulled the hose out and just aimed the water into the fuller, there was no problem.

Sound like the vent is closed . Blow out with air or take water hose an run into vent. Had this happen on my old 07 travel trailer.

... also take a close look at where the vent actually is... In my 2016 x213, there is a small screen just to the left of the fill hole, which I assumed was the fresh air/overflow for the fresh water tank. When I was opening things up to take a look at the pump, I saw that the screen was open to the trailer above the pump. Crawling under the trailer I see that there is a separate overflow/fresh air hose for the tank that just points down to the ground....
Come to think of it, I was wondering why it was wet around the pump, but now I'm thinking that rain is getting in that screen hole... Guess I need to get the caulking out to seal that up.

The filler tube is a piece of corrugated hose. Our HTT was notorious for that issue when we got it. What I found was the tube was slightly to long, and you had to flow the water uphill to fill the tank. I did two things to cure this issue. First from inside the TT, I accessed the gravity fill port, I wiggled the hoses around and added a zip tie to help encourage the hose to stay. Next I purchased a garden hose adaptor that you shove into the gravity port.
When you access the gravity fill port from the backside you will see Jayco does not use the vent port "screen" that is built into the gravity fill port. On the inside Jayco put a small dab of Caulk on the hose barb.

Is your hose trying to fill tank too fast??

At home my hose sometimes filled the fresh water tank too fast and the flow had to be adjusted a distance away at the faucet. I now use my Camco Water heater Tank Rinser when filling the Fresh Water tank - already had it, it slows down the filling, it stays put in the filler, and it has a shutoff valve.
On the road, I use a pressure gauge and water filters that slow the water to a reasonable rate. I use the Camco Riser then, too, because it stays put in the filler and has the handy shutoff.

I think it is the pressure was to high. Next time I will try it with the pressure reduce valve. Thanks I thought I was doing something wrong I see I am not the only one.

That's exactly what I use to fill my fresh water tank. It works great. I found that before I got that device, the end of the water hose would not fit in the gravity fill very well, and sometimes water would want to come back out when only using the water hose.
Now that doesn't happen.

when you fill too fast the air cant escape from the tank, pressurizing it , hence the water rushing back out

Had the same problem from Day 1 — slowing the hose pressure just made it dribble back out slower. Looking inside, it looks like the water infill hose is level or almost going uphill. Got a Camco filler tube with shutoff and it works great! Cheap at CW https://www.campingworld.com/water-t...SABEgI-z_D_BwE
