Finally fixed the silly wardrobes

I have a 287BHBE, and the wardrobes are almost useless. My wife has been after me for three years to do something about them, and today was the day! I pulled the rods out, added some shelves, and some led lights. As you can see I need 2 more lights, but this makes so much more sense in the small space than a deep narrow closet.

Do you have any other hanging storage or just can do without it?

Nice job.

Nice job.

There is the big wardrobe at the back of the trailer near the bunks, but we don’t even use it for that. We have basically turned that into shelves with bins turned on their side. The kids each have their own bin. I added more hooks for coats/jackets, and that is about all we use for hanging.

Nice change! Tell us about the lights you added including where you got them. Thanks.

They’re cheap LED AAA powered puck lights I picked up at Home Depot ~$10 for a pair. I will eventually get some hardwire motion sensor strip LEDs, but wanted to make sure the boss was happy before spending that much. Since I already had the wood, fasteners, stain, and tools lying around the only expense was the cost of the lights and my time.

I did the same with our 28RL, but just the shelf above the hanger. This way we can hang clothing and store socks, underwear etc. on the shelf. The 28RL doesn’t have much in the way of clothing storage, so needed the hangers.

I started in that direction, but the rods were too high. Most of the extra space was at the bottom, and it would be less than 6” at the top. Making new holes, so might as well do full shelves. We only hang our office/church/formal clothes at home, and none of that stuff comes camping.
