Finally Home! Our new 23RB

Brought home our new Jay Flight 23RB yesterday! We ordered it February 29th, it arrived on April 18th, and our PDI was yesterday (May 13th.)

PDI went well, only found a dent and scratch on exterior on the rear door side that the dealer had already written up the paperwork on when it arrived from the factory in April. They had even already ordered replacement parts under warranty for us to bring the trailer back in and will fix it after the part comes in, so I felt good that they were honest and "on the ball" so to speak.

Looking forward to several camping trips already planned for this summer!

Congratulations on your new purchase. We really like ours that we purchased last spring. I love the big bathroom and the walk-around bed the best! Happy Travels!

I love your size you have picked out... I think the smaller size as compared to the 38-42 footers will be a great experience for you... You should be able to go just about anywhere with this size and not cost two arms and two legs just to go 450 miles...

Congrats...

Thanks everyone! We really liked the size of this unit as well, especially for our first TT. It's actually quite roomy inside despite not even having a slide out. We slept in "Camp Backyard" the first night and can't wait to put it through it's real paces at the county park down the road Memorial Day weekend!

Congrats! Glad to hear you had a good experience with the dealer, helps offset all the bad dealer stories you read about on this forum.

Congratulations! That is the same TT my wife and I purchased last spring. We love it, just us and a small dog and the perfect sized camper. We installed a TV in the bedroom, a new faucet on the bathroom sink, and a counter top extension near the kitchen sink.

Enjoy your travel!!!

Smile We just bought a new 23 RB

Brought it home a couple of weeks ago and the wife is loving the extra space that our 2005 Airstream Safari did not have . Plus the fridge "ice box" is double the size of the Airstreams.
Hope this is not a fatal flaw , but was up on the roof this morning installing a vent cover over the bathroom roof vent and discovered the roof fabric on both sides of front half of the trailer is not attached to the plywood decking and is quite loose and movable . Called the dealer and they set up an appointment next Tuesday at 08:00 to take a look and see about fixing the problem and get us back on the road to the house the same day . Hope it works as it's a 200 mile trip there and back .

Hope your new roof was put on better than ours !

Good luck with your roof! I'll have to go up and check mine, I didn't look that closely I was too busy looking at the condition of the seals around the vents/skylights. Does your 23RB bedroom light (the central one above the bed) come on with the light switch and the rest of the living area lights? Mine doesn't, all 3 in the bedroom must be pressed for on/off. Just wondering if that's normal.

Just like ours , the bedroom lights have to be turned on individually , the wife , being vertically challenged , does not appreciate this feature.
Hope they did a better job putting your trailer together than the " Amish " did on ours !

Can't say I am impressed with their workman ship or cleaning abilities. I think jayco would be better off hiring high school kids and forgetting about the Amish

Guess I got lucky in terms of workmanship. I have noticed one or two spots where they could have done a better job but nothing I'm upset by. Cleanliness, on the other hand, is still a big issue. I'm still finding sawdust, caulk, putty, and other things that should have been cleaned before leaving the factory.

Taking the 23RB to Pensacola NAS for Memorial Day

Our 23RB is just about perfect for the two of us. Overall, the quality is acceptable. Wish the bed was longer, I'm 5'10". Swapping out the thermostat for digital and adding a stove cover on this trip. Looking forward to Jimmy Buffett in Orange Beach AL and fresh Florida seafood!

Unhappy Got it repaired .

The service guys at the dealer had to unfasten the roof on the left side and cut about 1/4 to 3/8 inch of the aluminum siding off that the factory had left sticking up above the roof decking , then put it all back together . Looks a lot better now . Was balancing the wheels and found the right rear brakes had self adjusted themselves so tightly that the wheel could barley be turned with brute strength applied to the tire while on a jack . The slack adjuster would not budge at all to loosen the brakes with a brake spoon tool , so I had to remove the backing plate , hub and drum as a unit and put an old 3500 pound axle idler hub on the spindle and tow the trailer to San Antonio with 3 brakes working . They were unable to back off the slack adjuster in their shop and had to pry the drum from the brakes with brute strength and crow bars . Had I not found this problem before heading to San Antonio , the hard dragging brakes on that wheel would have rapidly over heated and probably would have burned the trailer to the ground.
Any one else had these self adjusting electric brakes on the 3500 pound Dexter axles do this ?
What is the actual capacity of the fresh water tank on the 2016 RB ?

Our 23FB's floor plan is almost identical to your unit. It is just the two of us with three small dogs and we find the size just about perfect. We wanted a trailer that was easily towed by a half ton and for the most part it works well. Enjoy the heck out of your new trailer!

how does one find locked up brakes other than by dumb luck? I guess if my tires heat up (TPMS) is the only way I'd know unless you could feel it dragging real hard while towing.

I have 80 gallons (two 40 gal tanks) of fresh water on the 16 23RB.
