Finally pulled the trigger on new TT

Well after being on the sidelines and dreaming/researching for a few years I finally caved. Brought home my 2016 eagle 338 rets last night. Looks a lot bigger attached to my truck than it did on the lot...

The dealer was great to work with and I'm happy they are only 30 miles away. I feel like I got a good deal as well. One minor issue is I requested the equalizer 4 point with 1400 lb bars and they installed the 1000 lbs for the wdh. They have ordered the proper hitch and bars and will swap them out once they are in. The truck seems to be sagging a bit more than I'd like, so I'm hoping the bigger hitch will resolve that. If not I'll go with some air bags.

Maiden voyage tomorrow to a park close by. Will weigh everything at the scales on my way to the park to see how things look.

Hopefully the pic comes through. I tried for about 30 mins to back it in my driveway with no luck, so I had to leave it in the street. The street is narrow and angled and my truck kept hitting up against the curb!

Looking forward to sharing and learning with everyone!

Congratulations! It is hard to tell by the picture but it does look like you could reduce the truck squat a little more.

Safe travels!

Nice big rig!! A tip for backing it in: I assume you're taking the photo from your driveway. Get the rig closer to your side of the curb approx. 2-3 ft. just until the TT wheels are at the corner of your driveway and the street. Turn your wheel before shifting in reverse then slowly let the TT swing into the drive. This should help, if not eliminate, your tires from meeting the opposite curb.

Good luck and congrats!

Great looking set up! Congratulations.

As a fellow rookie, all I can say is that backing in to places does indeed get easier. All of the folks here will tell you to just go slow and take your time. It works, and in no time it will start to feel much easier as you get a feel for how your set up moves around.

Great looking trailer! Mine (on order) is a different floor plan, but looks almost identical on the outside. And yes, you definitely need the 1,400# bars for that trailer, especially after it's loaded up. That will help some with the rear squat.

Congratulations on your purchase. What is your tow vehicle? Looks like you have more tongue weight on your trailer than your truck can handle?

I have the equalizer set-up on my Silverado 1500 with the 31 QBDS. I found that the dealer didn't push nearly enough weight from the hitch to the front axles. I had to max out the washers in the hitch and brought the L- brackets to their highest position on the trailer. After doing that, the ride was significantly smoother and the bouncing was eliminated. Also, increase the tire pressure when pulling the trailer. I also recommend the Roadmaster Active Suspension. It improves the ride and dramatically reduces sway and side to side rolling.

Thanks. TV is a 2015 f250 diesel. I'm sure it can handle it, but like I mentioned the dealer needs to get me the right hitch, and then it probably needs to be tweaked from there. I don't think they took the time to measure everything, etc. like in the equalizer manual...

Exactly what I was thinking. I was going to adjust it today, but figured it was pointless since I'll be swapping it for the 14000 lb rated hitch with 1400 bars next week. Once I get the proper hitch I will take the time to get it dialed in. Our maiden voyage destination is 9 miles away, so we should be good for that drive with the current setup.

Great trailer...we have the 318 version of it. I have air-lift airbags in my F250 and it really helps with the sag.
