Thumbs down Fireplace will not turn on

We have a 2019 Jayco Eagle Travel Trailer with the electric fireplace in the slide out. It has been working fine up until tonight. Using the remote to turn on it clicked once and did not turn on and now it will not turn on with either remote or the controls on the unit. Ideas? Does not appear to be a breaker flipped.

I don't know what brand fireplace Jayco is using now, but my Designer has a Dimplex unit. It doesn't have a remote. I have had to take it out and open it up 2-3 times over the past 9 years of full time use and blow out all of the heater components. Lint builds up and blocks the air flow. Pay special attention to the heat sensor. If it is covered up with link it won't let the unit turn on.

You can find info on the Dimplex site on the procedure or at least you could on my model.

I read that the wire that goes from the remote eye in the fireplace to the on/off switch goes bad. If it does then the remote will not work or even turning the fireplace on by hand doesn't work. It only happens on the fireplaces that have a remote.

My 2020 eagle 330 had a short in the fireplace wiring. It has been fixed. I wouldn’t rule out having the wiring checked.
