First night in the Eagle

Well I spent my first night out in the Jayco Eagle and enjoyed it. The jack knife couch is a bit small for me but I spent here because of a few different reasons.

1. My stick house bedroom is being painted so it completely a mess... (Good excuse to test run the TT)
2. After moving out there with all my goodies I relized the cold nights here are soaking through the walls so close the bedroom and bathroom off and conserve heat.
3. My portable TV only fits in the living room area...

But other than that I enjoyed my first nights rest in my Jayco. I relized you get to listen to the heater go on and off through the night. So yeah we need a few more degrees like 50's at night and it wouldn't be to bad.

But I slept good...

If you have shore power available at your property try using a small electric heater. You won`t hear it coming on and off and if you do go to a CG you can use THEIR electric and save YOUR propane.

When using an electric heater, I set the thermostat for the furnace so that it comes on a few degrees below the temperature the electric heater comes on. This way, the furnace will only come on when the electric heater can no longer heat the trailer on its own. Because many electric heaters don't have actual temperature settings (or are inaccurate), you might have to "play" with this until you get it set right. But, it works well (and saves propane) when you do.

Well I do have shore power but I'm on 50 foot extension cord 14 AWG so I had to play safe and keep the electric heater on low (750 W) setting and then let the furance pick up the slack which wasn't to bad.

But I got my first night in the beast...

Oh. You know the old talk about plugging into the old current bush... In Idaho there isn't any current bushes growing in the middle of winter but I just happen to have a electric rock...

(No. that is not the cord suppling the RV right now...)

Nice video Mopar1973Man. I need to do something like that, but I don't have a video camera. Maybe my smart phone video camera will work? Hmmmmm!

For a 2000 that baby looks to be in great shape. I really like your idea for the hitch stand.

Thanks to both of you... As for the trailer it got a few minor flaws but everything is repairable. Like clips for the blinds, power cord is slightly damaged, needed tires (done), wheel bearings packed (done), replace damaged brakes (done), flushed the water system (done), etc...

I'm sure I'll fix even more as time and money allows...

Neat video. I had a vision of a nice Barker electric tongue jack in your future after watching it.

You have some other nice YouTube videos also! Nice meeting your mom! Neat to see the area you live; lotsa room for puppy-buddy (forgot his name).

Ahhh... You dug through my video collection... As for the dog... That's "Diesel"

I quite truely live in the middle of nowhere Idaho... Look close you might see my house...:hihi:

Actually I'm 20 miles up a ATV trail looking back in the general direction of home. The second valley out would be the highway. The small lake in the picture is Morgan Lake. A fisherman's paradise... There is no roads back here at all.
