First Trip in 2022 Jayco Eagle HT 294CKBS

We spent 6 days in our new 294CKBS and were really happy with the unit. No surprise, gotchas, and everything but the solar controller worked without issue. The controller was an easy fix - the neutral cable from the panels was lose so it didn’t have a consistent connection.

The hardest thing is we are moving up from a 27’ trailer to this big boy at 38’. Definitely a different feel and more to think about/watch turning, but it pulled well in our F250.

This thing has a lot of room for my wife and I. Really great floor plan with the triple slides. Two ACs keep the unit nice in 90+ degrees and the furnace worked well on a cold morning (unit got done to 61 degrees). We used the fireplace a bit and that was nice as well. 12v fridge kept everything nice and cold, we actually cooked in the kitchen, pretty much used everything in the rig.

Overall we are very pleased and looking forward to our next trip the first week of July. That one will be a longer trip. 200 miles vs 30. We wanted this bigger unit for our first winter away - looking at spending 2 months+ traveling after Christmas.

The toughest part will be finding a place to stay at a State or National Park and trying to to fill up all that new empty space!

Thanks for the post, we just purchase a new 294ckbs and look forward to our first trip end of April 2023. I am also pulling with an F250 7.3 turbo diesel and will travel about 80 miles on our first trip. Any thoughts on how it handled pull with your F250?
