First trip is in the books

Well, we took the new trailer out for its maiden voyage this past weekend and really enjoyed things, for the most part. Don't get me wrong, the time spent camping was great and all but two things came to light...the toilet seems to have developed a mysterious leak of water from the valve, I believe...and the exterior shower leaks like a stuck pig. The thought of dragging the trailer all the way over to the dealership doesn't thrill me, I can tell you that, but it'll have to get fixed. Anyone else have brand new trailers with leaks that have developed?

Congrats on the first trip. Although yours is a 2011, check out this thread about toilet valve leaks. I also had one.

I have been fortunate, first trip out with our 28bhs was without incident, to the camper at least, had a blow out with the TV on the way to the campground.
I hope your issues resolve quickly and you are back on track for more great trips out.
I must admit, camping with such a big camper (at least to us) certainly did make a difference for all. Best nites of sleep camping yet! And we thought our hybrid was living!

Mine had a loose fresh water line going into the head. It has a thumb screw type nut on it and is easily reachable from over the top of the head. I would check that first. When the installer put the head in he just didn't tighten it up. It was a 15 second fix. I hope that is your problem.

Our trailer leaked first trip. The black tank sprayer was loose at the connection. Fresh water poured from the underbelly & soaked all the insulation.

Thetford got a bad batch of valves,
I called them and had a new one in two days.

Same here. For the life of me I could not find the leak until I read a post here.

It is difficult to find because it is intermittent and only leaks when the pedal is engaged.

After reading the post I did some investigating. My valve only leaked if the pedal was only pushed half way down.

They will send the valve free since it is under warranty. Only takes less than 30 minutes to swap out. Do not have to removed the toilet, just pull out and replace very easy. Better than a week at dealer. Just make sure water is drained in lines.

Thanks everyone...

...I will get in and check out the connections and make sure that everything is tight...and possibly order a new valve from Thetford as well. Has anyone had trouble with their outside shower units leaking?
