first trip of 2012 in montana

just checking in with everyone. got the trailer fixed just before thanksgiving ie:the soaked underbelly. the dealer replaced the whole under belly insulation so we are back to good as new. our salesman was the person that pushed that through for us. anyone that buys a camper from big sky i would reccomend him. no other problems with the trailer so far and we used it a lot this last year. we have the 3 solar panels on it and 2 6 volt golf cart batteries and it keeps charged up fine.
just went camping last weekend on the madison river by norris. been very warm here for this time of year. the foil package works fantastic! money well spent. wishing everyone has a great camping year.

What model of trailer is that, Bob? It looks a lot like our 22FB from the outside.... can you give a little more info on the three solar panels (e.g., how many watts each)?

it is a 2011 23fb, exactly like yours except it has the g2 package making it a 23fb instead of a 22 fb. we really like it. we have 2 65 watt panels and one 75 watt panel. we need that much because camping under the trees most of the time we dont get the full amperage out of them. camped in glacier last summer for 11 days we kept a full charge and that was under a lot of trees. we are conservative on our power though. we do have a fantastic fan in the bedroom we run to either pull hot air out or push cool air in and with the inverter we can charge up the cameras and lantern and chainsaw batteries and the wifes phone. hope that helps.

Thanks Max... every little bit of information helps. I'm currently working through some plans to reduce my consumption so I can operate on battery power as much as possible. Eventually, I'd like to go solar to recharge but honestly, I am finding I have a lot yet to learn.

The reason I asked about your model # was because I wanted to know if there was sufficient room for that many panels on my roof.

If you can summarize any helpful hints and tips via a PM, I would love to hear them.
