Flush Easy Lube Axle when changing bearings?

Replacing my bearings with Timkens this weekend and still have a few questions. Manual calls for using only specific types of grease on the bearings. I purchased Timken Bearing grease but then noticed that in the manual they say do not mix types of grease.

1. Should I flush the grease in the Axle prior to replacing the bearings?
2. I also noticed that the Timken grease is not a synthetic grease, does this matter?

You will be good to go using the Timken grease. I don't know how you could flush out the grease from the channels inside the hub, I would just give the hub a good cleaning and remove as much of the old grease as possible.

Thanks. I thought that the way to flush would be to push grease through the Easy-Lube fitting until I saw the new grease come out the back... Am I missing something, this lube system is new to me.

You can flush out the old grease with a few squirts into the zerk while everything is disassembled. When I replaced my bearings last year with Timkens that's what I did to make sure there was no contamination if I decided to use the system in the future.
