Freezing water line

I am new at this and this will be our first time going south for the winter. I'm curious as to how everyone keeps the water hose connected to your trailer from freezing. I plan on being somewhere in south Texas for the winter and I am assuming that the temperature will get below freezing at sometime.
We were south of Tuscon, Arizona for a couple of weeks and the temperature there had dropped to below freezing. Of course it did warm up during the day. Do you wrap the hose with foam insulation or maybe wrap with a heat tape. Or should I even need to worry?

I don't even try. I keep my fresh water tank full and disconnect the incoming hose when the forecast is for freezing weather and just operate off of the on board tank. When I disconnect the hose I disconnect both ends and leave it laying there. I elevate one end so it will drain and I can hook it back up to refill the tank easily. I've been doing this for 3 years full time and it works for me.

We spent last winter in the East Valley of the Phoenix area. Apparently, it was one of the coldest string of days on record, but the worst that happened was a slow flow in the early a.m. Just letting a faucet run for a minute or so opened up the flow. Point being, a short time in the mid 20s caused no hard freeze in my hose line.

Disconnect the hose and run on the fresh water pump system. The freezing weather probably won't be more than an night so this shouldn't be an issue with your water use.

I doubt you will experience few, if any, freezing nights in south Texas.

I wonder if this hose is drinking water safe, some hoses that are not rated drinking water safe put out bad tasting water.

Think you worry too much. A new clean hose is quite safe to fill your tank or hook up you water system in a pinch. The real answer is almost no one at a camp where the temp is expected to drop below 0 is going to leave their line connected. Why under go the expense of heat tape etc unless you are in an area where it freezes regularily and for lengthy periods. Then I would ask myself, why I'm staying there.

Bassdogs makes a good point. Zero is a whole other story. My hose line froze solid one night in Hebert AZ. I don't know what the temp was that night, but probably not below 20. Zero? Why am I staying...Oh, yeah. He said that.
