Question Fresh Water Fill Procedure

We just purchased a 2013 Jayco 26RLS.

I have read the instructions on filling the fresh water tank but I don't totally understand it. It says to put one end of the hose in the fill tube and the other end in "your container." Then turn on the water pump to fill the tank. What container would you use for this and why can't you use your home water hose to fill it?

On my old Tioga MH, you just stuck a hose in and filled it up.

Thanks,

KRP

Its the same on you 2013 Jayco. On the side there is will be a city H20 connection and a gravity fill H20 connection. Gravity fill is to fill the FW tank and use the 12v pump to pressurize the system...city connection bypasses the FW tank and water pump.

First Congratulations. Just do what you have always done. There are a lot of questions about the way to fill the tank. Jayco should look more closely at their wording.
