Fresh water fill vent

I was filling my fresh water tank yesterday to sanitize it , new to me camper 2017 whitehawk and on the inside when I was looking at the filler neck going to the fresh water tank noticed the vent just had a dab of caulk on it and no tube. Should it not have its own tube running to the tank as well? Hopefully the picture attached shows.

Jayco does not use this vent. The use an open overflow as the vent

Where would the open over flow vent go, does it go out a tube and out the bottom of the TT ?

O was just out side about an hr ago and noticed a pool of water under the camper, I filled fresh water tank last night. Cut the under belly open and a ton of water came pouring out..just my luck..

There is an open tube that should extend out from under the TT. Mine is about 1/2" diameter, as I recall, it is clear tube with some white strands going through the tube. I know some of the newer rigs have a black corrugated tube, similar to your fill tube. On my rig, the overflow tube is behind the tires.

Lucky me I found the over flow tube when I dropped the under belly, looks like the previous owner tucked it back up in to the belly for what ever reason so when I filled the tank it dumped quite a few gallons into the belly..had to throw out all the underside insulation and take it all down to let it dry out

We have a 2019 Jayco 264BHW and our trailer came equipped from the factory with a breather tube attached to the filler cap and connects to the top of the FW tank.

As a side note, I just replaced the standard filler cap with a locking filler cap. I've heard of a few stories of trailer water being contaminated by ne're do wells. I may be paranoid, but better safe than sorry.
