Fresh Water Tank 2/3 full?
I have a 2105 Jay Flight 33RLDS and I noticed that the fresh water tank is 2/3 full. I can't remember putting any water in the tank. My trailer is parked at a campsite with 3-way hookup. I don't plan on hauling it around. I am wondering if that tank should have any water in it, and if I didn't put the water in it, how did it get there? Also does it drain using that drain-cock on the side of the trailer? Tks for the replies in advance.

Dealer and these sensors may not be correct and drain using drain cocks.

the dealer likely put water in to test. Which is what they are suppose to do. get underneath and look for the drain and open it. While you are under there take your time and familiarize yourself with everything else under there

A wise camper will always keep some water in the FW tank. If for some reason the park water supply goes out you will still have water for flushing and hand washing..

Our 33RLDS has 2 drain plugs about 18 inches apart.

+1 I always haul 25 gallons (out of 80 gals capacity) in the on-board tanks, plus a 5 gal water cooler jug for drinking (for the whole trip, not just the ride ...).
We use it for "incidentals" on the road, but if I show up to a place and there's no water, that's enough get me through until I can figure out how to fill my on-board tanks for the whole stay if needed.

I would drain it. Make sure the sensors read empty, sanitize the tank. Then add a few gallons, for emergancy use incase the CG water supply is none functional. I would also recommend draining it every month or so, jsut to keep the water fresh.

The dealer taught me this trick when I took delivery. Add a bottle of lemon juice to you fresh water tank when you fill it. It keeps the water fresh. It really works! I fill my fresh water tank before our first trip every year and add the lemon juice. I don't worry about it again until I add more water or drain and winterize. The water stays fresh and never gets funky. The lemon in the water isn't really noticeable. Our dog wouldn't drink the water however. Then we remembered that it had lemon juice in it. Apparently the dog doesn't like citrus. :-)

That seems like a lot of lemon juice, can you taste it at all? I personally wouldn't mind a little lemon flavor in my water, but DW is not a fan...

Ok, how about a pint to 40 gallons of water Camper_Bob. lol Think about it, 32 oz. to 10,240 oz (80 gal.) of water is not much lemon juice. Thanks 0.003125 to 1 ratio of lemon juice to water or 0.3%. At that concentration one can just barely detect the lemon juice, but it is there. I don't even notice it all now, but my dog sure does! Like I said before, the dog won't drink it. We usually carry gallon jugs of drinking water to drink and make coffee with anyway, but sometimes I drink right from the tap and have never had a funky water problem. I don't see any reason why one couldn't try less and then increase the amount until it is barely detectable. I started with 1 pint/40 gallons that my dealer recommended on my old camper and it was fine. :-)
