fresh water tank

We have a 2016 Jayco Jay Flight 23 with a Murphy Bed, we cannot figure out how to empty the holding tank, which we filled when we were evacuated due to a forest fire, we are so confused as to where we empty the fresh water holding tank

There should be a low-point petcock drain valve below the trailer under the fresh water tank. Open the petcock valve and your inside faucets (to facilitate the drain process) and the FW tank should drain out.

Or you could run the inside faucets into your gray tank, and then properly dump your gray tank. However unless your hooked up to external power, this method will drain your battery as the water pump cycles to create water pressure.

Thanks, this is our third trailer, and it looks completely different than any we have owned, there are to outlets under the trailer with turn knobs, but no matter what we do the water does not come out, we live on the Oregon Coast and there are no RV dealers here I have called the place we bought it but they don/t seem to understand the problem , thank you so much for replying we are going camping next week and will take it out of the Barn so will look for any and all outlets, thanks so much, I think the tank is under the Murphy Bed that is where the pump is but we can/t figure it out, any way thank you and have a great day Jean Miller

Your owners manual shows what to do and where. If you didn't get a hard copy with the trailer, go to jayco.com and download one.

The section you want to review is the chapter on "Draining the Fresh Water System". It will have a complete description, plus diagrams. Its easy peasy.

Welcome aboard!

Try contacting Jayco. Have your vin number and ask for the plumbing diagram.

If you can post a few pictures of these knows and the surrounding area, maybe we can help a bit more.

Jayco uses two types of valves. Three way valve, and the traditional 1/4 turn valve. With the traditional valves, if the handle is parallel with the pipe it is open. Crosswise closed. Three way is about the same. The direction the handle is point is open. Which ever position the handle cannot reach is always open.

The low point drain for the fresh water tanks are usually white. You might also find blue and red low point drains. It is the white one you need.
