fresh water tank problem on 2015 JayFlight SLX 195RB

We couldn't fill the fresh water tank on our new 2015 SLX 195 - until my husband gerry-rigged a garden hose - because the water had to go uphill. The dealer has since supposedly fixed it (under warranty) by flipping the tank and using the original drain hole for the new fill hole.
A different rv mechanic told us that's a leak waiting to happen. Now we're worried that after the warranty runs out, it'll leak. Maybe we're worrying over nothing, but are wondering if anyone else has had that problem? (We haven't tried to fill it yet because it's been too cold in PA! Some spring!)

I would be worried about how much water could/would get left in there due to the location of the new drain (the old fill). If it's low enough no worries if not...

I am guessing the fill hose between the tank and the water fill opening was too long causing it to fill uphill?

I see what you mean. The FW fill looks very low to the ground on that model.

Flipping the tank seems odd. I have heard of a number of complaints where the fill hose was to long and the water would have to flow up hill to get over the loop, then down into the tank. The easy solution is to shorten the hose.

I would love to know how they pulled the tank and flipped it. On my htt, it looks nearly impossible to be removed.

The good news, if your tank is built like mine, where the pipes connect to the tank, are all threaded connections, so if they used pipe dope, or Teflon tape, it will be just as water tight as any threaded pipe connection in your house.

If you can, please post a few pictures of the tank, how it is mounted to the chassis and how the various hoses are connected to it.

We had that issue on our previous trailer, a 184BH, very similar to yours. The fresh water tank is located under the dinette seat, and the outside water fill ends up below the tank. In fact, ours did leak right from brand new, so I removed the hose, siliconed the crap out of both ends, and re-installed, adding hose clamps on both ends. Never had an issue after that. I also purchased a camco water fill hose attachment, which extended far enough into the tank that I did not have a problem with water back-flowing while filling (the hose connecting the tank to the outside fill port is not very long):
