Fridge will not light on propane

Searched the site and didnt see my answer so here goes...
Brand new 2014 Jayco TT. Fridge will not light on propane. Gas bottles on. Stove top burners light and run with no issues. Furnace fires up. No issues.
Fully charged (new) battery

Here is my procedure;
I set the switch on the fridge to GAS
Propane is turned on
I hold in the red button for gas (safety??)
I press the other red button repeatedly (as manual states)
The little red line in the meter does not move to the green area which indicates flame

I know it's getting gas because a fellow rv camper took the panel off the outside and manually lit it with a grill lighter and tghen I got the meter into the green. (btw the Jayco dealer said NEVER DO THAT, not sure why)

Question: how do I know if that electric igniter is not working?

JAYCO dealer said bring it back but I'm trying to save myself 2 trips (1 to drop it, 1 to pickup) over 1 hour in each direction.

Thank you for replies!

I have the same problem. Followed the instructions over and over and it still won't start or go in the green area.
During our walk through, the dealer couldn't start it either. Shame on me for not making a big deal about it.

Well after trying everything I could possibly try on my own I gave in and brought her back to the Jayco dealer Sunday 7/07. Once they tell me what is
wrong I will post it here as it seems nobody on the forum had any helpful info.

I had that with my Dinosaur 1997. The wire that causes the ignition spark was plugged in wrong.
It was pushed in between the connector and the housing instead of being on the connector.
Looked right. Just didn't work.
Simple fix.
Pull out plug and line it up with the connection.

Ok picked up the trailer Saturday from dealer and they say the "igniter was out of adjustment"
It's working now.

For future diagnostic reference:

A fellow camper a few days ago was having the same problem with his frig, but on an older TT. I focused in on the igniter because I couldn't hear the "clicking" sound of it trying to ignite the gas, so I removed the igniter (one screw) and noticed that the little metal mounting flange on the igniter had some corrosion on it's surface, cleaned it off....., and once it was reinstalled the igniter was once again operational ....... frig is fine.

Bad ground at the igniter.
