That looks like a quick an easy way to deal with the space.
Seeing this reminds me of the issue I am having with ours... and what most others may also soon have, but maybe dont know it yet. The base of those cabinets (at least in our particular trailer) is that really thin (maybe 1/8" thick) material that is stapled to the BOTTOM side of the cabinet. Some of the staples nearly missed the paneling all together, or blew right through it because it is so thin to begin with and/or they were running too much air pressure in their staple gun that day. On our first trip with the trailer I found our clothes in one of the cabinets had pushed the paneling right down from the bottom of the cabinet.
I am either going to secure that piece of paneling properly or add another piece below it that is thicker.
I would check out how yours is put together before you store too much weight on the base of it.
