FLying J, Love's and Travel Stops America all have lanes for gassers. Never had a problem with any of them.

I can't improve on what you've already been told. We have a diesel and took the same 800-mile trip dozens of times over several years and each time it was an adventure. Best solution for me was to carry an additional 10 or 15 gallons of diesel fuel. I wouldn't feel so comfortable hauling that much gasoline.

I usually wait to get an end pump and especially like the SOB's that fill-up then go inside and do 15 minutes of shopping or order a meal while leaving their car at the pump. When I "ask" them to please be a little more considerate in the future, most times I just get a blank stare. It's getting to where I'm not surprised any more by people's actions. Short rant over.....

Can't add much more here. Plan, plan, plan. There are many Apps that are great for gas guzzlers (I have one). Yes, it can be nerve racking, but by simply planning ahead (and I have called a few stations to ask), it is simple and actually rather enjoyable.

Just be careful how you pull-in and pull-out and be choosey which pump lane you pick even if you have to wait in line.
x4 same.. No problems ever even on the back roads of New England and New Jersey..
To be fair our unit turns pretty quick .

X5 I have traveled all over the west and never had an issue finding or getting into and out of a gas station. Never felt the need to carry gas either. When in a remote area I keep the top half filled...never used the bottom half.

I purchase the book "The Next Exit 2017" every couple of years. It list all the major highways, and the Exit numbers. It also list whether there is anything off that Exit that is RV Friendly in Red Print.

Just did a 1000 mile trip each way to Indianapolis, IN from New Hampshire and the book was spot on for each time we needed gas. I would have my wife start looking when we had about 1/3 tank left, and she would let me know the options we had.

Fueling Truck

I drove 18-wheeler for 25+ years, and still have a chuckle every now & then. Last weekend got the trailer from RV shop for some warranty work, and went to scale it at the local CAT scale, but I went and fueled up first.

Got to the Wal-Mart and looked for a clear island to grab, and, of course, the only open one had some cars on the next set of pumps. Just swung out wide, knowing I couldn't back up with sway control. Just cleared the first post, hugged the pumps, slid the trailer in behind me, cleared the other car by 4 feet, and slid right up to the pump I needed.

Sat, chuckled, and said to myself, "See, 25 years of driving truck prepared me well for my retirement..." It's all in the attitude.

I had a 2009 Tundra double cab 4x4 long bed, winter package, tow package.
Loved it very much, bought it to tow my RV. Only problem with it was braking wasn't great. But an added brake controller was fine with trailer.
Very hard to find a double cab with 8' bed, mine came from Canada (manual in French)
A teenage girl pulled out in front of me and totaled it so now I moved up to an 3/4 ton
Wish I saw it for sale before I bought the Ford but I only want 8' beds

Can't take credit for that one. I read it here on JOF too quite some time ago, and have been using it ever since!

Google Earth is invaluable in finding usable gas stations. As others have said, I plan out my trip before I leave and scope out potential gas stations. If on the road, I have my wife do it while traveling long before we need it. I too try to use Costco stations, as someone suggested, because they are usually 10 cents cheaper per gallon. However, beware, many Costco and other supermarket gas stations have simply carved out a corner of their parking lot for the station and the exit can be a sharp 90 degree turn right out of the pumps.

Google Earth

GE really has great resolution for looking at satellite pictures...

I thought everyone knew that.... Just have to figure out how old the pics are.. Our home photo shows 2 vehicles we sold a couple of years ago.

And sometimes Google Maps will show a gas station, but Google Earth will reveal an empty lot because it hadn't been built yet when the photo was taken.
