fun times...lol

Went back to our seasonal site near Tawas this past weekend. Weather was absolutely beautiful. My husband went to un do the water heater bypass and when he touched the valve it fell off in his hands...Tried like heck to get it back on..no luck. Went into town to get a new valve and the rv dealership there was closed. Got up Saturday and went into town for the parts..was treated like crap at the dealer there. My husband came home ready to tow the trailer back home when our campground owner said hey wait let me call a guy...This guy showed up and put a new valve in- in about two minutes...charged us 45 bucks for it...(dealer wanted 200). After that it was a great weekend! lol...too bad this place treated us like crap...we are really wanting a fifth wheel....:lizard:

I would say in that situation, you would do us all a service by posting the name of the dealership.

To ask for 200 dollars was indeed sinful. For sure 45 dollars was a fair price. The lever for one of my bypass valves was lying on the floor when i went to de-winterize mine and could not pop it back on either. When i went to get parts at my dealer i told him i reallly didn't want to bring it in just for that(warranteed). He gave me a user friendly replacement valve with compression type fitting at no charge. The package had a 15 dollars price on it. It took me half an hour.

yeah the part was like 7 bucks but then my husband asked how to get the fittings off..the service guy replied "good luck with that"...well that set my husband off...dealer isnt hard to figure out - jayco dealer in Tawas Mi....heck it would have cost us over 45 bucks in gas just to tow in home...I was fine with that price lol...these guys might get alot more business if they treated people that use their service dept better...I bet if we had bought from them they would have treated us better...I don't care what happens we will never step foot in that business...I should clarify that the 200 was to come out to replace the part which should have been covered under warranty anyways...

Warranty does not ever cover trips to the campground to do fixes... it will cover the actual fix but not the time charges to and from the CG. Personally I would call the dealerships owner and talk to him about the service staff..

I meant the part should have been covered anyways but they wanted to sell us some expensive tool to remove it...so then we asked how much to just come out and fix it...200 bucks...sheesh...
