Furnace duct to floor?

I have the thermal package which supposedly means there is hot air going under the floor to the tanks area. Is there just a hole underneath the furnace doing that? Because there is no duct that goes into the floor.

Otherwise I kind of feel ripped off.

I have the same concern regarding mine. I have a 2016 26BH. It does not have any ductwork either. I have emaied Jayco about it but am still waiting for a response. I feel ripped off as well. I will let you know if Jayco responds. My "customer service" experience until now has not been the greatest unfortunately.
Cheers and happy camping!

If the dealer told you that they lied.

Right from the spec: heated (except 21QB, 24RBS, & 26BH) underbelly.

Does that mean that my 2016 23rlsw has a heated under belly? Duct going under there?

Not according to the spec for a Jay Feather. All the info can be found on JAYCO'S website.

Thanks Grumpy.
It states that for the 2018 model year, but not for any previous model years.
Is it that they changed this for 2018 or developed a conscience? I don't know........

Heated doesn't always mean a separate duct however.

Depending on how the heat is run sometimes they just have an opening in the metal duct work, or they rely on radiant heat from the metal ducting.

If you have floor vents for heat, than your underbelly will be heated. As Grumpy said, it may just be from the warm "ducts", not with a separate vent.

2016 Specs

According to the 2016 Jayflight specs there are no model exclusions (attached):

"Thermal Package
Includes: Insulated, Heated, & Enclosed Underbelly, Foil Insulation in Roof and Slideout Floors"

Here's an example of my model (19RD) being excluded from an option:

"Cargo Accessory Receiver (N/A 19RD, 23MB, 23MBH, 23RB, 24FBS, 26BH, 26BHS)"

The only vents in my 19RD are at the ends of the two ducts shown in my original post. One of them is in the "wall" under the jackknife sofa, and the other routes to a vent in the "wall" about 4 feet to the right of that.

No vents are in the floor.

There's hope

From the Atwood website:

"Multiple Duct Outlet - The 8900 series offers the standardization of one compact framing dimension, which allows the option of installing either a 35,000 or 40,000 BTU furnace. It also offers six different side duct outlets and a bottom discharge outlet providing even greater installation flexibility and the freedom to design more efficient ducting systems."

So I guess a session with a screwdriver is in order tomorrow.

I think I get it now. Our furnace on the 23rlsw only blows air from the front of the furnace grill.
We have an enclosed under belly but probably not heated. Grumpy how did you figure that out from the Jayco web site?
Our x23b had 2 vents besides the furnace grill but those tubes for the vents did not run underneath but through the interior walls.
That x23b actually heated better than our 23rlsw.

I would remove the mounting screws for the furnace and lift it just enough to look underneath to see if any heat is going down through the floor

If it's a 2018 you go to "standards and options" for the model in question.

If it's not a 2018 you go to archives and then work through the models.

Thanks Grumpy I'll take a look.
If it wasn't so darn cold I would be climbing around our camper now.

Bob, I also have a 2016 23RLSW. As you know there is no ducted heat to the coach. Just the vent blowing out the front of the heater. I did get the enclosed underbelly but there is nothing heating that area.

I'm disappointed that Jayco didn't run heated ducting to the bedroom and the living area. That was my one concern before I bought the unit.

basically a popup trailer heater with a blower.

I use a electric heater in the living area when needed but if the bedroom area is closed off, it get a lot cooler back there without a heating duct.

Wireman. I didn't notice the lack of heat ducts when we bought the rlsw, we probably would still have bought it anyway we really like the floor plan.
I'm going to post another thread about the rlsw and water leaks. I didn't want to change the theme of these posts.
I would like to get your input when you see it.

10-4. The floorplan was my main reason for buying. Met my tow vehicle needs also.

I'll be watching for your post.

Bob, stay warm or head south. Looks pretty cold back there.

I'm a Ca. transplant from Cedar Rapids 35 years ago.

One of my Vietnam buddies was from Stillwater, fairly close to you.

Take care.
