Thumbs down Furnace problem

Having furnace issues. I ran out of gas & when I went to switch tanks I noticed I had a leak on my gas line so I went & bought 2 new lines & replaced them but when I turned the gas on & turned on the thermostat for the furnace it wouldn’t light. I figured it had air in the lines so I lite my gas stove to help get rid of the air but after trying several times the furnace still wouldn’t light. Another thing I had happen was back when the furnace was working & when it would first come on my ceiling lights would flash on for just a second & then go back off. Any ideas?

Most likely you turned the tank on too quickly. Turn the tank valve off, turn on the stove and let the pressure drop off in the line, if any. Turn off the stove, and very slightly turn the tank valve just enough to let it slowly pressurize the line. Then start trying the stove until it lights, and then the furnace. There is a valve that closes if the gas line let’s say gets cut to slow the flow. Hopefully this will get you up and heating.

The flickering lights could be any one, or a combination of a few issues. Some of which are a bad battery. If it's original, and 6 years old, it may be time to have it checked out and maybe replace it.

Bad or corroded connections, which could be anywhere in the 12 volt system.

Converter going bad.

Too much 12 volt load. Does the converter fan come on often?

Furnace fan drawing excessive current. Maybe the last place to check out as they're usually pretty durable.

Just a few things to look into. I hope it's something simple.
