In order to help with an answer it always helps to know the make and model of the appliance you need information about The more you give the better help you can get

Do you have the manual for the furnace If not get the make and model number and you should be able to down load the manual.

Thanx, it's an Atwood MPD 32072 "hydroflame".

The light has since come off when we first unplugged from my truck the blower came on and then the light... not quite sure yet what it is, the owner said check the on switch on the thermostat....

Sometimes the propane lines to the furnace get air in them when you change propane tanks. Then when you turn on the furnace it attempts to light and fails due to the air in the lines. Usually, after a specific number of attempts the control board shuts the furnace down and signals a failure to light. Possible that 3 red lights are failure to light alarm. Removing power to the control boards causes a reset and the cycle will start again.

Just general info since I don't know anything specific about you particular furnace. Of course there are other reasons to have a failure to light signal too.
