Fuse panel fan running too long?

We just bought a new Jay Flight 23rl and had our first camping trip. At night, we had the awning light (led strip) on, tv on, and was plugged into the park electric. When turning on the led lights inside we noticed that when a 3rd light was turned on the fuse panel fan came on. It seemed to stay on until we turned off one light. The refrigerator was also on electric but I'm not sure that I t was running at the time. Is the fan running continuously in this scenario normal or should it eventually shut off? Thanks for your help.

Yep, that's normal. I've heard of people replacing the fan with a quieter one, if it's too annoying.

My 2017 White Hawk 24RKS had a power supply that was like that. I noticed my 2018 White Hawk 28RL has a completely different power supply. No matter what I have on there is no fan noise. I’m not sure it even has a fan.

The fan is part of the 120v to 12V converter used to cool the heat sink inside the unit. The more 12V amps you use, the faster the fan spins. The fridge is 12V and pulls voltage from the converter when you are plugged into shore power so it's part of the draw. I'm not sure there is much you can do to reduce the fan noise other than shutting off some lights.

Thanks for all the input. The fan isn't really noisy but seemed to run a lot. It's good to know this is normal based on the draw.
Thanks again.

One small benefit of the fan running is to make you aware of what types of power things draw if you use your rv without hookups. I replaced my light bulbs with LED and it made a huge difference how much the fan ran. I forgot to change the bulbs over the sink and in the stove hood, I found out when I was plugged in. My refrigerator runs on LP or 120 VAC.

Should the fan run while on ac power? Mine just started running while connected to ac power. Is that normal? Runs about every 15 minutes for 3-5 minutes.

Not abnormal. It runs based on internal temp which changes with the load.(charging battery etc).

Check your battery condition, it may be in need of a good charge. That's usually why the fan runs because the converter is putting extra power to charge it. If the battery was run down or dead it may be to the point of replacement, new or not, they're not made to be run down and their life can be greatly shortened.

That is normal operation. Fan is on the converter. When it is charging the battery the fan will run.

Thanks to all, I'll check the battery and see what's up. For nearly 2 years its been silent but the dealer did leave a light on and the batteries were dead earlier in the year when I picked it up so they may have been damaged. thanks again.

Yes it will run on Shore power. It is providing 12 volts Dc and is charging the battery.
