FW pump on, flows out of the city water hookup

I have a 2017 Jayco feather BHM. When I tried to use the water pump for the first time water flows out of the city water hookup. Is there a valve that needs to be closed to separate the two systems?

Be sure the cone screen is pointed out and not in. If it points in it holds the check valve open.

You're the Man

Grumpy,
That was exactly the problem. Turned the screen around and it works fine. Thanks so much for the quick reply. I am sure I could have spent hours searching for a valve to separate the system. Cheers.

This cone screen causes so many issues around here, and the way it's suppose to be used is one of the best kept secrets in Jaycoland.

Usually the only time you should flip the screen is for winterizing to ensure you get all the water out. Or in some tt's that have a control center, you flip it to suck up antifreeze from a jug.

If there's only one water inlet, you also have to flip it if you want to suck in sanitizing solution or if you want to fill the onboard water tank from a external water jug.
