Gas water heater

I have a new trailer and notice the gas sound very loud at first then seems to quiet down gradually as the water heats. Is this normal ? Is there an adjustment ? Sounds to me like the gas air mix is not right? Sure enjoying camping jay

Welcome to the Forum from Western New York State!

That's pretty normal to hear the flame. I'm guessing you're outside when you notice it the most. The only adjustment is the air mixture on the burner tube, and they're usually spot on from the manufacturer. You'd be getting a black soot on the cover if it needed adjusting. We've never had to touch that adjustment on any of our 6 campers.

It's perfectly silent if the HWT can run on electricity and you can connect to shore power.
