GC2 batteries fit on battery tray?

We're going to be doing some boondocking in a few weeks so I want to swap my one G24 battery out and get 2 GC2 batteries. Looking at the dimensions of most GC battery boxes they look to be a little deeper (front to back) and than the normal auto batteries. Do GC batteries usually fit on the racks fine?

I just did mine. They fit into the tray no problem. It was a bit of a squeeze on the height, but once in everything is fine. The hardest part was not having anything to grab(no handle) on the GC2 batteries.

What kind of RV do you have?

We have a Jayco 26BH, and there wasn't quite enough room on the rack, but I was also concerned about the greater weight of the batteries. I went to a local welder and had them install a new rack made of angle iron. Was $45.00 to weld it on, and I primed and painted it. Much more robust than the stock rack.

A 242BHSW. I have a rack made of angle right now but it's about 7 1/2" deep (looking from the tongue) and I'm worried it's not the right size for the different batteries.
