generator on and off

This may be a silly question. is there any way to wire the generator into the thermostat so it will turn on before the air cond. comes on and then turn off when air cond turns off?

If you buy and install the auto start kit. It will start the genny either when the a/c calls for cooling or when you get a low battery.

With the auto start kit does the genny come on for a few seconds before the a/c starts or at the same time?

The genny will start and then when the transfer switch kicks in the a/c starts. Bear in mind the auto start is around $700.00 give or take.

Best mod for a portable gen like a H2000i is adding a "kill" switch. Allows you to turn it off when you're done for the night and eliminates the need to throw on the slippers and jacket and go outside to shut it down. In my case I wasn't concerned about firing up the gen in the am which would require an electric starter to be added. The kill switch is a simple mod.
