Question parallel generators

Excuse my ignorance about this but what does the parallel kit involve? And is it easy to hookup. Never had to do this. Thanks

It's basically hook the the power of two generator into one outlet for increased power. Two 2000 Hondas make 4000 watts. I have hooked 3 together for 6000 watts for a large toy hauler.
One person can carry the 2000's where one person will struggle big time with a single 4000.

Ray of Love Your RV gives a good overview of parallel Champion 2000's.

We are RV Campers as compared to RV Travelers and only use our 2KW Generator for charging up the batteries each day and most of our camping is off the power grid.

We found out rather quick that running the generator on the East side of the US is only allowed at set times each day and never allowed after 8PM at night. Most all of the public campgrounds have generator run time restrictions in place.

This made us beef up our trailer systems including the battery bank to run extended times off the batteries. We run all of the 120VAC items we want to have on from an INVERTER and all of the 12VDC items direct connected to the battery.

This has all been planned out to run down our battery bank to its 50% charge state at 8AM each morning when we are usually allowed to run our generator. The 2KW Generator using the smart mode on-board converter will charge up our battery bank in a quick three hour generator run time during breakfast so we can do all of this all over again for the next day/night run off the batteries.

Having air conditioning is low on our priority list. About the only time we use the Air Conditioner is when camping at Electric sites.

Picking a generator really depends on your lifestyle and also depends on when you can run one. Dispersed camping out West allows you to run generator anytime you may want to as well as PRIVATE OWNED places. I think you will find there will not be many public places you will be able to do this anytime you want to. Maybe when on trips and parking along side of the road perhaps....

The big high dollar motorhomes with built-in generators usually get away with running one anytime they want to it seems...

Just my thoughts

Probably because they are extremely quiet by comparison. However they should be made to follow the rules no matter what. My 2cents...
