Getting Evy ready for our first real trip

After sleeping in our new TT for 2 nights in my parents’ yard and then leaving her there for a few weeks, we are now getting Evy ready for our first trip from Florida to North Carolina and possibly beyond. Any tips or suggestions for a 1st trip?

Drive slow and enjoy the journey.

And start a "to do" list on your phone so you can remember all the mods and supplies you'd like to add once you get home from your trip......this list never fully goes away.....it just seems to keep regenerating during every trip

Tire pressures
Take a floor jack if you have one
Bring some tools
Make sure you have extra fuses
Take plenty of leveling blocks
Get a 30x50 or 50x30 amp converter plug (depending if you are a 30a or 50a trailer

Consider keeping a journal of your travels. The places you stay and sights you see.

This is a great idea! We are camping with our three kids ages 5, 8, and 12. They might like to look back at that. Thanks!

If there are bumpy roads on the way to your camp sites, we have noticed things loosen up. Water lines to the sink in the bathroom, and the toilet have leaked after miles of washboard roads, or potholes. When you see water on the floor don’t panic. Just tighten hot / cold on the sink and toilet. No tools required, the fittings are designed for hand tightening. We’ve done 6 trips now and two times they needed snugging after we were parked.

Not a bad thought to check them every time before hooking up the water then. Thanks!

Well, the day we got up to leave on our first trip in the new TT, our daughter woke up with a 103.5 fever. We couldn't get it under 100, so the next morning we took her to the doc and she had the flu. The next day our youngest son got it. Needless to say, we never left for our trip. We now have a site booked for February at Tomoka State Park (FL) and a four-day stretch at F.D. Roosevelt (GA) for Spring Break in March. I'll share those experiences when they happen.
