Good Year Endurance on Stock Camper? + Advice?

Does anyone know what year Jayco started putting the GoodYear Endurance tires on stock?

I bought my camper in April 2017. I’m getting ready for a 2500 mile trip. The tires are likely slightly older than 4 years old. My camper is in storage. I’m hoping they have the Goodyear endurance already installed. If so, I’ll roll with them.

In the even that they don’t have the Goodyear tires, would you replace after 4 years and 15,000 miles?

Thanks,

X

I think it depends on what rig you have. They are listed for the PINNACLE and NORTHPOINT, but not on the Whitehawk..

With that said, as to age it depends on the DOT manufacturing date and also what a physical inspection shows as to whether you need to replace them. Also trailer tires that have been sitting are more likely to fail than those that were towed regularly.

Here in the central valley of California, it gets so hot and dry during from late spring to mid-October, it almost doesn't matter how many miles you have on the tires. After 4 to 5 years, they should most likely be replaced.

However if your TT is stored under a cover and your tires seldom get direct sunlight, then you might get another year or two out of them. But even if your trailer has the GY Endurance tires, you should consider replacements soon.

I bought our trailer end of 2016 and had Rainier tires on them. They served me well for nearly 4 years and 25000 miles. I pay a lot of attention to tire pressure and temperature of the tire and never had a problem. With a nearly 10000 mile trip planned for this year I replaced them with Carlisle and after nearly 2000 miles I am very happy with them. That being said I believe in replacing trailer tires after 4 years.

Miles don’t get you on trailer tires. Time, and ozone oxidation a does. With that big a trip planned, and tires that have been on since ‘16-17 they need to be replaced.

There should be a date stamped on the tire. Check for that.

After getting away from ST rated (trailer) tires and into good truck tires I never had a tire related problem. On last tt I owned tires were still looking almost new after 10 years. Only reason for new, discount tire and other places won't service anymore, not even checking air pressure.
I was meticulous with them, balanced, rotated every 5k miles, proper air pressure, and they were speed rated faster than I ever would tow.
I live in Florida and never covered tires, do you cover your car and truck tires?? I did use the tt on a regular basis which is good for tires.
Just my experience, yours may and will vary.

Goodyear only announced the Endurance in January 2017. I doubt a trailer would have them installed 3 months later.

2017 was the first year for my model. My 2016 came with Raniers, and I threw them out last month. Well not literally.. Goodyear did that for me. 4 years is getting close, even for good tires. You'll have to inspect them closely and I guess go with your gut instinct, but I'd personally plan on replacing them sooner than later.

not to hijack this thread but where is the best place to buy replacement tires and rims. next set i would like to have aluminum wheels instead of the painted white ones. unless the painted white ones are better for some reason.

Those tires are on my trailer when I bought in July of 2017. I have close to 10k miles, (decent tread left) but am replacing them this April due to age and a big summer trip coming up of 3k plus miles.

if it is 2500 miles that has a town or a tire facility every 100 miles your probably fine.. but if you are going to be 300 miles from a town then I would just put on new ones...

you're right on the edge... IMO.. if they are GY you can get another 2500 miles out of them... depends on your level of risk and if you can take a 5 hour delay in your trip plus have to buy the tires anyway....
I would start looking for them now before everyone else and they run out...
