Goodyear Endurance

How are your tires doing on your rv? Anyone have a failure yet with this tire? They came on my new whitehawk and so I am interested in hearing about how good they are.

I changed out a few months ago from the C rated China Bombs to the GY Endurance D rated 205/75/14's and promised to do a review once I had some experience towing with them. Obviously after 3 months who knows what the "Endurance" part will be but I can say after 3 trips that:

1. Much firmer feel (probably the D vs. C rating and firmer sidewalls
2. Much less bounce when set up at camp site and walking in trailer (see #1)
3. Warranty I got from Discount Tires was better than offered direct from GY
4. I feel much safer going 60-65mph than I did with the China Bombs because the temps I get at each stop are much lower and more uniform (basically ambient + 7 - 10 degrees)
5. Seem to hold the 65 psi longer than my C rated held the 50 psi ( I check pressure before every movement of the TT.

I think they have been out for less than a year so there are no long term reviews. I also recently switched to them just last month and went from 225/75/16 d to 235/80/16 e. Only have about 500 miles towing on them so far but so far so good.

Likewise, but installed in March. We have ~2200mi on them and I like them.

Could anyone who had them factory and done some serious miles on the Goodyears chime in please?

I am heading out on a 3,000 plus trip in about 3 weeks and thinking about buying Goodyears. I have to go through several big cities with intense traffic ( Wash, DC, Chicago and in between where speeds below 65 invite rear enders or cutoffs.

I've got one Goodyear Endurance, and three China Bombs. Four if you count the spare. All E rated. Tread and sidewalls look identical between the four. Only difference is the Goodyear hasn't turned brown. I'm about 3500 into them. I'll pobably go to all Goodyear soon.

What are 'serious' miles? Does 2,200mi qualify?

The tires are new so you may not hear from very many with high miles on their GY Endurance tires. Peak travel season just started in June won't be over until Sept or so.

Made as trip to discount tire this morning and had the Goodyear's installed. 4 miles on them so far and they didn't explode. So, I've got that going for me.... Which is nice.

I'll give an update after a trip and some more miles. Feels better knowing the bombs are off.

Central PA to Pigeon Forge, TN, about 900 -1000 miles in the heat of July. North Point and GM Endurance tires. They rode very smoothly and didn't seem to heat up at all. Often at speeds exceeding 65. FW and tires just new in June.

Like JHerzog I switched out the marginal C rated Rainer tires for Goodyear Endurance. Not enough miles to make a real review, but agree with points 1&2. Got mine at America's Tire Store. Mounted, balanced, and a warranty I was out the door for about $250. Also stepped a a size to 14" 215/75 for a larger margin of safety.

Good luck to everyone. I have about 700 miles on mine. Heading to Florida in October from Maine. Around 2,500 miles round trip. My tires are sitting at 62 or 63 pounds of air. Need to pump them up to 65, as suggested. What are all you guys running at?

I just upgraded to the Goodyear endurance tires and went with the load range D from C that it came with. I aired them up to 60 psi and went on a 6,000 mile trip. They performed very well with nary a problem.I used a TPMS and on the extremely hot days the air pressure went to 65-68. On cool days it showed 61-62. After 6,000 miles the air pressure still checks in at 60. They show no signs of wear. I am impressed with them so far.

I always have my trailer tires at the max shown on the sidewall: Goodyear Endurance load range E @ 80psi. ~4,400mi since Feb. All's well.

I've always been told to go to the 65PSI before running on the tires but it appears in hot weather yours went from 60 to the 65PSI. Not sure which is correct. I have mine at 65 PSI before I start rolling regardless of weather.

I air my Endurance tires to 65 psi, as shown on the sidewall.

65 would be correct. The pressure should be measured on cold tires, ie not run for several miles first. The manufacturer figures in an increase in tire pressure after they have been run awhile.

Currently sitting in Minnesota having rolled them 2000 miles. Haven't even had to put an ounce of air in them yet. Still all at 65psi over a lot of hot blacktop.

Anyone know the wheel width of the aluminum wheels, can we go more than 225 with that width?
I'll run Ranier for a season or two, roll the dice. Endurance will be next

I put on the Endurance tires in March and have about 10,000 miles on them. Much less sidewall flex than the Raineers that the trailer came with. Very little tread wear and I've only had to add air when the ambient temperature has dropped considerably. I run them at 80 PSI and keep the speeds at 60-65. Very happy with them so far.

I see what you did there... "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice."
